What is Firearm Retention? Firearm Retention is the act of keeping control of your firearm in a hand 2 hand combat situation, whether the firearm is still in the holster, in your hand, or transitioning from your holster to your hand. Note - Firearm Retention IS NOT a required training course to obtain a Missouri CCW permit. Why take a Firearm Retention course? If you ever thought about how you would protect your firearm during a physical altercation or if a suspect was trying to take your firearm, then you don't have to look any further... 3 Tier Defense's Firearm Retention course is for you. Firearm Retention training is used worldwide by Law Enforcement Officers, Federal Officers, and Military personnel. This training is one of the most important trainings you can take if you are planning on carrying a CCW firearm. What is covered in the course: *Proper holster positions (Inside the waistband (IWB), Outside the waistband (OWB), Appendix, Small of back) *Pros and Cons of holster positions in a retention situation *Mental Preparation and Awareness prior, during, and after an attack *Retention training for a holstered firearm *Retention training for an un-holstered firearm Dress Code should be comfortable: *Pants, jogging pants, sweat pants, leggings, shorts, etc. *Short or long sleeved crew neck shirt *Closed-toed tennis shoes (No open-toed or Croc style shoes) Please note: Participants must wear a face mask, unless they can show proof of a COVID-19 FULL VACCINATION status. A COVID-19 Vaccination card or photo of your COVID-19 Vaccination card will be accepted. Social Distancing guidelines will be followed during the course of the class. $75 Registration Fee includes: *4-hour Firearm Retention Training CLASSES ARE LIMITED TO 15 PERSONS PER CLASS AND ARE RESERVED ON A "FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE" BASIS.
